Cookie Policy
This policy explains which cookies are used on nekalegal.com, the website operated by Neka Legal Attorneys at Law (the “Firm”), for what purposes, and how you can manage your cookie preferences. For general information on how we process personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that the websites you visit store on your device through your browser. They are used to make a site work properly, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. Some cookies are set by the site itself (“first-party”), others by third-party services embedded in the site (“third-party”).
Cookies we use
The cookies used on our site fall into the categories below. All cookies other than strictly necessary cookies are set only after you have given your explicit consent.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the site to work and to store your cookie preferences; they cannot be switched off.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookieyes-consent | CookieYes (first-party) | Stores your cookie choices (accept / reject / category selection) so that the banner is not shown again on every visit. | 1 year |
| wordpress_*, wp-settings-* | nekalegal.com | Holds session information only for administrators who log in to the site; not set for visitors. | Session / 1 year |
Analytics cookies
These help us understand how often the pages of the site are visited and where visitors come from. The data is assessed in aggregate, statistical form and is not used to identify you directly.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics (Google LLC) | Stores a random identifier used to distinguish visitors. | 2 years |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics (Google LLC) | Keeps the session state and the number of page views. | 2 years |
Third-party content
The map on our contact page is embedded from Google Maps. When the map loads, Google may set its own cookies (for example NID) and process your IP address; this processing is subject to Google’s privacy policy. The fonts used on the site are loaded via Google Fonts; this service does not set cookies, but your IP address is sent to Google’s servers when the font files are requested.
Note: We do not use advertising, marketing or social media tracking cookies. The “Performance” and “Advertisement” categories in the cookie banner are currently empty; if cookies are added to these categories in the future, this policy will be updated.
Legal basis
Strictly necessary cookies are used without seeking explicit consent, on the basis of the Firm’s legitimate interest in providing the site securely and in working order, under Article 5(2)(f) of the Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“KVKK”). Analytics cookies and third-party content are set only on the basis of your explicit consent under Article 5(1) of the KVKK. You may withdraw your consent at any time; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
Managing your cookie preferences
- Cookie banner: On your first visit, you can accept or reject all cookies using the banner, or make a choice by category under “Customize”.
- Changing your preferences later: You can update your preferences at any time by clicking the cookie icon at the bottom left of the page.
- Browser settings: You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site from working properly.
- Opting out of Google Analytics: You can block Analytics measurement on all websites with the browser add-on provided by Google.
Your rights
Your rights under Article 11 of the KVKK and how to exercise them are explained in our Privacy Policy. You can use the same contact channels for questions about cookies.
Changes
This policy may be updated as the services used on the site or the legislation change. The current version is always published on this page.
Language
This English text is a translation provided for convenience. In the event of any inconsistency, the Turkish version of this policy (Çerez Politikası) prevails.
